I updated El Capitan over Yosemite initially on October 30, 2015, but these problems became more prominent after the most recent update. Another attempt was made to boot into “Internet Recovery Mode,” which according to one post, would reinstall Yosemite. I’ve tried restoring the programs in question and the entire application folder. How can I restore Yosemite to Time Machine? Mail and Safari (the two most common apps) are no longer functioning properly. Your Mac will restart and begin the restore process. Select the backup you want to restore from. Open Time Machine preferences from the Menu bar. Connect the Time Machine drive to your Mac. If you’re running OS X Yosemite (10.10) or later, you can use Time Machine to restore your Mac from a backup.
